Presentation Evening

The annual Kerang Christian College Presentation Evening was conducted on the 24th November at the Memorial Hall in Kerang. The Hall was filled with well-wishers, family, friends, schoolmates and proud parents as the graduates walked down the aisle of the hall. This event was a fitting celebration to mark the end of another successful and exciting year in the life of Kerang Christian College.

The 2016 academic school year was a historic year for the Kerang Christian College school community. This year, the College offered Year 12 studies for the first time in the College’s history.

The Presentation Evening provided the school community with an opportunity to congratulate the Year 12 students on the special achievement of graduating. Graduating from Year 12 symbolises the completion of formal Secondary Schooling and marks the beginning of many new adventures. In 2016, twelve students graduated from the College’s first ever Year 12 class.

Another feature of the Presentation Evening was the presentation of the blazers to the Year 6 students, symbolising their transition into Secondary School. The blazers were presented to the Year 6 students by the Year 7 Home Group Captain, Emmer Pilgrim.

The College also graduated the Year 9 students who have completed their Middle Years (Years 7 – 9) of education at Kerang Christian College. The Year 9 students will transition into Year 10 and commence Senior School at the College in 2017. A number of students in Year 10 at the College will be accelerating their VCE studies by commencing a Unit 1 and 2 VCE course.

Kerang Christian College is committed to excellence in Christian education. The College acknowledges the importance of recognising the success of those who achieve excellence. The Presentation Evening concluded with the awarding of the annual perpetual trophies. The Awards Ceremony is the pinnacle of recognition of persistent endeavour, diligence and achievement of excellence at Kerang Christian College. The Kerang Christian College awards recognised academic, sporting, leadership and creative achievements as well as Christian character. The College also presented the Mallee Excellence Award, The ADF Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award and the School Sport Victoria Academic and Sporting Achievement Medal.

Presentation Evening was a wonderful evening of celebration of the excellent achievements of our students and the support of their parents. Families were invited for a tea and coffee after the main presentations, giving them the chance to catch up with friends and staff. We look forward to another great school year in 2017.

Kerang Christian College is now accepting enrolment applications for Prep to Year 12 for 2017. For more information about Kerang Christian College, please call (03) 5450 3894 or view the College website.
