Kerang Christian College is delighted to announce additional capital developments which will take place at the College during the course of 2015. The College is grateful to be receiving a grant as part of the 2015 schedule of the Australian Government Capital Grants Programme. The College will be constructing the second stage of the Secondary School Classroom Wing, which will encompass a fully furnished modern classroom, Primary and Secondary School video conferencing facility, break out room and teachers’ office.
As part of the Commonwealth Government’s Capital Grants Programme (CGP), Kerang Christian College will receive a grant of up to $220,000 for Stage 2.
Mr Andrew Broad MP, Member for Mallee, contacted the College to congratulate the school on receiving the grant.
As Kerang Christian College further expands intoSecondary School, the College continues to aim to provide modern facilities to best meet the needs of 21st century learners. This expansion will facilitate the College in continuing to meet the infrastructure needs of our school community as we offer Primary and Secondary School education to students from across this region.
The Secondary School Classroom Wing will be constructed on the northern end of the school grounds and will contribute to maturing the Senior School courtyard area at Kerang Christian College.
A key feature of this building project will be the development of a second state-of-the-art video conferencing facility. This facility will allow students and teachers to work collaboratively with other schools and resource providers. This technology also provides scope for maturing the College’s video conference offerings for students with the College working closely with VCE staff at Ballarat Christian College, Shepparton Christian College and Victory Christian College during 2015.
We know that video conferencing is a tool that can break down geographical barriers and allow us to offer enriched educational opportunities for our students and teachers at Kerang Christian College.
The Australian Government’s contribution to this project under the Capital Grants Program (CGP) for non-government schools is allocated through the Victorian Independent Block Grant Authority (BGA).
