“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10
The start of a school term is always a busy time in all schools. Kerang Christian College is no different. Staff and students have been preparing for a wide range of College activities and events, including the CSSN Cross Country, the Lions Club Public Speaking Competition, Senior School Information Evening, the Primary School District Athletics, Year 10 Work Experience, the Senior School visit to the Careers Expo and Latrobe University and much more.
I am always challenged to find a few moments during each day to pause and stop. It is so easy to have a very scheduled, busy lifestyle. I know many of our students experience the challenge of balancing school, study, sport, community commitments and employment for some of our Senior School students.
God calls for us to stop and connect with Him. Some days, this may be just for a few minutes. By connecting with God, we have an opportunity to reflect on our blessings, to share with God our challenges and to clear our mind from all of the business that life presents us with.
Last week I arrived at school early on Monday morning. The College was covered with frost and some fog. I found this to be a lovely moment to pause for a minute and give thanks to God for what he has provided our school with. It was also an opportunity to appreciate the different seasons that God presents us with. I must admit, I am currently looking forward to the warmer weather of Spring.
I’m sure many of us share the struggle of trying to find a few extra minutes to pause and reflect each day. I pray God provides us all with a few extra moments during the week ahead.
