On Wednesday evening, Kerang Christian College presented the 2015 Primary School Concert at the Kerang Memorial Hall. Approximately sixty students from Prep to Year 6 at the College participated in the show, Australia. The concert provided a highpoint to end Term 3 for the school community.
The concert entertained the audience of approximately 200 with happy faces, colourful costumes, songs, movement and storytelling by the talented students.
The Australia concert showcased many well-known Australian songs. The audience thoroughly enjoyed listening to many old favourites including ‘Click Goes the Shears’, ‘I’ve Been Everywhere’ and ‘I am Australian’.
“We congratulate and thank all of our Primary School students for sharing their songs, dance and drama with our school community on Wednesday evening. Their efforts rehearsing and performing were greatly appreciated,” highlighted Kerang Christian College Principal, Mr Michael Bond.
The concert’s success relied on the teamwork from the staff from the Primary and Secondary School as well as the support of the parents and friends in the Kerang Christian College school community.
School concerts and musicals at Kerang Christian College aim to provide students with the opportunity to experience one or all of the disciplines of the Performing Arts, including Dance, Drama and Music. The Australia concert provided the Primary School students with an authentic opportunity to display their performing arts skills.
“We particularly thank Miss Brooke Alder for her outstanding contribution to the success of this show and for her creative direction. We also acknowledge the guidance and support of our Primary School Home Group teachers Mrs Kate Nelson, Mrs Jennifer Moore, Mr Jesse Cutler and Miss Bronwyne Van Leeuwen.”
The Bible encourages us to praise the Lord in many ways, including song. We are grateful to God to be living in a country as beautiful and blessed as Australia. Psalm 117:1-2 (NLV) says, “Praise the Lord, all nations! Praise Him, all people! For His loving-kindness toward us is great. And the truth of the Lord lasts forever. Praise the Lord!”
Students in the Primary School will continue to study Performing Arts lessons as part of their regular curriculum program during Term 4.
Thank you once again to all our parents, grandparents, siblings and, uncles, aunties and members of our school community who came along to enjoy the performance.
